What will aeration do for my lawn?

Aeration is also called coring; it is the best way to reduce thatch. This simple process improves drainage and opens the thatch so water and oxygen can reach roots. Besides reducing thatch, aeration also improves compacted soil. Compaction occurs naturally over time. Foot traffic, mowing, heavy rain, and parked vehicles all mash down your soil, which all compresses into a hard layer 2 to 3 inches. You may need to aerate high-traffic and heavy clay soil areas twice a year. Consider redesigning your landscape to keep traffic to a minimum. Core aeration can benefit your lawn by:

Fertilizer

As important as aeration is for your lawn so is fertilization.  Fertilizers need to adapt to the season.  There are different compositions of the ingredients used for the different seasons. This will make you lawn vibrant and lush all year long. At the time of the aeration we can also fertilize your lawn.  This is the best time to fertilize.
